Christy is a country music songwriter and vocalist. Before teaming up with the boys in EvenFold, she performed as a solo artist in the North Texas area. Christy has performed at venues such as Main Street Days in Grapevine, TX and annual Fort Worth Songwriters/Lone Star Music Association annual events. In 2002, she was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year by the LoneStar Music Association. Christy says she "...draws inspiration... from artists such as Tim McGraw, Faith Hill...," as well as others like Jazz performer Winton Marsalis and composers Tchaikovsky and Bach. Christy brings her gentler yet purposeful singing style to EvenFold.

5 Questions with Christy:

Q: How did you get into music?
A: I inherited the evil musician gene from my Navy trumpet-playing dad, and then when I was 7 a little voice in the mirror told me I was going to be singer when I grew up. I’m still tryin to learn how….

Q: How long have you been playing?
A: Flute? 27 years. But you can’t sing and play flute at the same time so I picked up the acoustic about 10 years ago in the Marine Corps Band. Learned harmony from an old bass player when I was in high school and been singing all my life, since the Chipmunks and the Beatles were playin on my mom’s stereo.

Q: What do you think of your bandmates?
A: They make me believe there really is such a thing as destiny….they are the band I always wanted to be in. Fer real. They’re the best. ;)

Q:Who are some of your influences?
A: Tchaikovsky, Bach, Sylvia, Faith and Tim, Wynton Marsalis and Kathleen Battle, and Olivia Newton-John.

Q: What would you be doing if you weren't a musician?
A: Listening to top secret communiqués at the CIA or Embassy duty at the Marine Barracks, Washington, DC. (or any other embassy). Ooh-rah DevilDogs.

It's in the genes...thanks Christy.
