Jim Wood
Rythmn Guitar

Jim is a classic rock trivia buff, movie nut and a closet disco fan. He grew up in Aledo, Texas, home of the BearCats, but never really took to the 80's music scene…still jammin' out to Led Zepplin and The Doors when other kids were listening to DePeche Mode, ABC, and Bobby Brown. He first learned guitar his junior year in college and became a big fan of Stevie Ray Vaughn. Prior to joining EvenFold, Jim played blues with other bands including "Slurred Vision" and "Bazooka Joe & the Blues Batallion". His music taste softened as the years have gone by. These days, Jim prefers listening to Al Green while drinking a glass of Shiraz and hanging out with friends, family and bandmates.

5 Questions with Jim:

Q: How did you get into music?
A: My parents were big into disco when I was a little kid. I remember loving Michael Jackson's Off the Wall album, KC & the Sunshine Band, & the Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever cuts.

Q: How long have you been playing?
A: Joined "Slurred Vision" as the singer in 1989. Started playing guitar in 1991 when I realized I wasn't that great of a singer. I didn't want to get kicked out of the band.

Q: What do you think of your bandmates?
A: I really enjoy the comraderie. It's great to be in a band where we actually like one another. Egos can kill a band, and so far, except for Lance, they haven't been a problem. Snicker…just kiddin' Big Time.

Q:Who are some of your influences?
A: SRV, Al Green, AC/DC, Julius Irving, Roger Staubach, Stan Sone, Paul Newman, Bill Murray, Richard Pryor and Napoleon Dynamite.

Q: What would you be doing if you weren't a musician?
A: Movie Critic or Knife Thrower.

Thanks Jim.
